Prompt: Witch’s brew — write a potion for something you really want
Source: scentofsnowfall (Instagram)
3 white candles
4 teacups
1 cup of milk
1 cup of water
4 pinches of fresh mint leaves
1 ginger
1 soft shawl
1 diary
1 pen
Pour some water, set it to a boil.
When it’s bubbling, sprinkle three pinches -
four, if you will it-
of fresh mint leaves. Crush your thumb of ginger
with all the stress of day, and squeeze it
into the dark brew. Strain it out
into one teacup -
Add a bit of milk if you please.
Now drape your soft shawl and stow away
to the rooftop -
make sure the skies are dark. Set the last three
cups around thee -
gently light the candles in and leave them be.
Now open your diary and wield your pen.
Look right up at the moon,
the fuller the better,
and repeat carefully:
‘Inner peace, inner peace,
I have it in me.
Be it night or day, shadows astray,
inner peace, inner peace,
I have it in me’.
Now sit by the candles
and enjoy your tea -
write a poem or two, if you please.
